I thought I would talk today about something I have come across quite frequently when it comes to judgements created within the spiritual community or within those that consider themselves to be ‘spiritual’ or open minded against those that would consider themselves ‘not spiritual’. This created judgement is only being deserving and worthy of your dreams if your conscious intention for obtaining those dreams is the subsequent result of ‘wanting to help people.’
Each person on the planet holds the capacity to be compassionate. The true meaning of compassion however is an action, and always will command some form of action when it is fully embodied. It is simply and beautifully, the ability to assist a person who you can see would benefit from your assistance, following no thought of personal gain at the outcome, acting completely spontaneously. You issue no form of judgement around them or the situation, simply just show up present in the situation jumping to assistance. It is the ability to recognise pain and act on a need above your own. There are many spiritual ideologies that present conflictions within a person and this is the one I find confuses people the most.
Let me explain..
When many people (myself included to start off with) set their goals for who they want to be in life and what they want achieve, they feel that in order to appear a ‘good person’ and to be truly accredited for their work, they must have some passionate directive intention of wanting to be or create something that will indirectly ‘help’ people in the long run. Because of the huge rise in the notion of ‘giving back’ and giving brings things back to you 10 fold, as detailed in teachings from the Secret and similar media, many people have jumped on this bandwagon thinking that arranging their goal around the main focus of helping others, when focusing their ‘WHY’, means it will definitely make it happen because their intentions are ‘pure’. Many people that dream of becoming famous and popular idolise this intention and actually end up overworking and draining themselves because their conscious and subconscious mind is at constant affliction. You are effectively trying to live a lie.
If your hearts genuine desire is to simply be ‘famous’, the more you accept that you simply want it because you want it and don’t have to justify your reasoning to yourself or anyone else, the quicker it will happen and if there are any lessons attached to that desire, and it is simply set up as a ‘starting point dream’ to position you towards something else, then all the extra things will all show up along the way anyway, you don’t need to do anything, just continue to move towards it. You will know if you genuinely want it because you will keep taking action on things that create a bigger following or generate interest in you in that way. As a human, you always have to have something to move towards that you want to become or create because that is the nature of this reality. To have nothing to do or work towards creates a stagnation and that is when you become ill and unbalanced. To try and lie to yourself and falsify the reasons that you want something, keeps you in a constant state of limbo because you spend so much mental energy feeling like you need to justify your actions and desires that what you want will constantly elude you.
Wanting things that the spiritual community sees as ‘shallow’ does not make you shallow. Lying about who you are and what you want, only means you attract others into your life that falsify this ideology too and much of your life will become based on an illusion and you will feel out of whack and out of balance a lot of the time because you won’t be connected to your true self and desires. It doesn’t help you and doesn’t come from a place of integrity. You can only ever truly learn anything from experience so to try and say that your ultimate goal is to help people when you don’t even really understand how that translates emotionally yet, (which is not a negative thing) is a waste of your time. You will naturally learn those things along the way and everyone is on a different journey and will activate those different levels in themselves at different times when they are ready. You will always be given those opportunities, no one is exempt from that, the most important part is how you deal with those less favourable situations as and when they come up because they are the things that you grow from that the things that will propel you forwards.
So for now, just keep positioning yourself towards the things that you love and the things that you really enjoy doing and keep doing those because you naturally radiate when you are doing those things anyway, which is infectious and inspiring to others without even trying. It is not something you have to create an alternate intention for. Life is full of surprises and unexpected twists that will happen anyway, you goal is to keep navigating towards what makes you thrive because you brain needs something new to focus on in order to expand. Not out of obligation, not to please others, but genuinely the thoughts, feelings and actions that in this moment, make your heart sing, and next week, if those things have changed and your dreams have changed, then just go with it and don’t become fixated on finishing something out of obligation to how you originally ‘thought’ your life should look.
Sometimes you are given dreams in a particular way that at that particular point in time, your mind will be able to comprehend. A couple of years down the line when you have experienced more and understand the things that you’re either really bothered about or not really bothered about anymore, will the dream change because you are able to comprehend and cognize things differently. However someone else judges what you want, is not your problem. Judgement only ever affects the person that holds it. If the way someone does things doesn’t resonate with you, then you are under no obligation or contract to have anything to do with them, whether they are blood related or not. You can be pleasant towards them if your path crosses and accepting of another person and the way they choose to do things, without involving yourself with what they do. You’d spread yourself way too thin if you did this anyway.
As you change and your dreams and aspirations change, your circle of connections naturally changes anyway so trying to hold on to the people that were there originally when you were a very different person and you have nothing in common with anymore and don’t enhance each other or each others life in any way, is also a waste of your time and theirs.
Honesty in this life will get you everywhere. It might piss people off from time to time but just think how much easier this life would be if everyone was just honest and told the truth? Total honesty is freeing because you don’t ever have to try and be something you’re not which and speaking from past experience, it is one of the most exhausting things you can ever ask of yourself.
Happy Monday! Be yo’self.
