Dream Decoding: The People Projections

One of the more challenging concepts to dream decoding is being able to differentiate between whether or not the presence of someone in a dream is simply a projection of a part of you that is externalising so that you can see the aspects of behaviour playing out to help you to understand yourself on a deeper level or if the presence of another person is directly linked to that person literally and their influence on your waking life.

When the person in the dream is playing the same part to that in waking reality and you feel in the dream the same way you feel in relationship to that person in waking reality, then it is a direct link to the relationship you hold with that person. If the relationship itself was not for your highest good or there was an aspect you need to bring up within the relationship that you were withholding talking about even though it was of great importance to you, the dream will be somewhat literal. Often the unconscious will also link someone else that has played the same role in your reality previously if it is a pattern inside in the relationship that needs breaking as it is a scenario you have visited before in a previous relationship connection in the same arena. Such as seeing your current spouse but also a past lover connected in the dream.

When that person is being shown as a projection of the embodiment of something else, such as seeing someone else’s mother, even though you have no real emotional investment with that person, it is to get you to understand your own inner conflicts or underlying disharmony connected to the ‘mothering’ role either seeking it externally or embodying it in your own life. This is so not to confuse you as to use your own mother in that scenario whereby you have close connections to, would distort the hidden meaning in the dream as emotional investment is powerful and if not kept in check can be the biggest cloud in judgement.
