How to tell if someone is truly your twin flame and the activation of the ancient heart

There are many speculations about how you identify your twin flame and there is one identifying aspect that supersedes all others when it comes to identifying your true divine counterpart. The heart chakra is multilayered, meaning that as we move through deeper lessons in love, the heart opens new chambers, layers beneath it that invite deeper inspection and self reflection to unlock parts of it that previously remained hidden. This is why we can move from feeling the intensity of falling in and out of ‘love’ quickly (known as foolish love) as a teenager, to stretching our heart as we grow through embodied wisdom to accommodate the love that shatters the illusions of all others that came before. This is the kind of love that leaves you feeling the other person in the very bones of your being, like they are an intrinsically connected part of you, even at a distance. This is a connection that awakens what is called ‘the ancient heart’.
The ancient heart sits at the back of your heart space, towards your sternum and becomes activated when a certain meridian and pathway for connection gets stimulated and ‘switched on’ if you will by your divine counterpart. They awaken you to the truth of your being, stripping away illusions of self and all conditions and preconceived ideas around love. It is the connection that alights the warrior heart, the strength in the heart that is not at the mercy or fearful of its vulnerability but rather made courageous because of it. This awakening in the ancient heart is how you identify your true counterpart. It is a love that gives you strength and endurance above all other things to continue as it no longer fears love, but surrenders to it willingly as the force that drives it forward. It is a love powered by endurance and a deep and unyielding passion for life and the other, not a fleeting and momentary fixation of love that exists at the level of the ‘foolish heart’ the one that fears vulnerability and exposure, the level that constructs an image of self based on conditions around love and dances cyclically in those conditions until the second level of the heart is awakened.
Many misidentify twin connections as those that break through the second layer of the heart. The second layer of the heart deals with ‘explosive love’. This is love that breaks you to your core, bringing you to your knees, bringing you to the barriers of self hatred, through what binds you to accepting less for yourself as the other shows you a mirror to those parts of yourself that you deny, reject and suppress and shames and rejects them for you until you see the truth of how are allowing yourself to be treated and waits for you to decide to give yourself permission to choose more for yourself and to relinquish the grip that your shadow has had on you by inviting it up to the light for reconciliation, forgiveness and integration and leaving those connections upholding the standard for yourself to never allow it into your life again. These connections reveal your shadows by becoming a living breathing embodiment of them. They criticise you, don’t support you in the ways you truly need it, activating survival wounds, and reflect back to you the fears that have been buried deep inside of you. These are the connections designed to challenge you to see your worth, so that you might stand a fighting chance of accepting the connection of the ancient heart when it wonders unexpectedly into your life. The bond your heart has always truly searched to find.
Twin connections can’t find you at the first level of the heart or before you have endured, broken through and are actively healing from the second layer of the heart of explosive love. You physically wouldn’t be able to see them unless you had begun to develop a level of emotional maturity and self respect to handle what the connection demands of you. The separation it can ask of you. The surrender. The decision to choose the other over and over again, and in doing so, whilst your body and mind undergoes an entire upgrade and transformation to your operating system so that you can successfully merge with your counterpart and access the deepest levels of bliss and pleasure in the body, also indirectly consistently choosing yourself. The embrace of trusting in what is not already known. Your twin flame, your true divine counterpart, is the reckoning of your true self that slumbers deep inside of you until you are ready to see yourself for who you really are and are ready to claim all of yourself and to live it boldly in the world. The truth of your soul that leads with the warrior heart, fiercely and unapologetically.
